Our friends from the band Low-fi contacted me about doing a quick photoshoot while they record their new CD. I was happy to do so and I am excited to hear their new CD!

Deer Tick returns to Boise
On June 20th. a friend of our’s, John McCauley of Deer Tick rolled back into Boise for another incredible and fun-filled night. Deer Tick first performed at the Record Exchange and then to a packed audience at the Neurolux. Over the years, Travis and I have been telling friends, strangers, and just about anyone who would listen about John McCauley. I couldn’t help but to feel a bit of pride as I stood by the side of the stage and watched all the screaming fans cry out for more. With up coming performances scheduled for Jimmy Kimmel and Saturday Night Live, he sure has come a long way since the first time we met him and saw him perform in a little Nampa coffee shop in 2006.

Built to Spill 5-15-09
Here are some pictures of another one of my favorite bands, Built to Spill. Being that they live here in Boise, I am lucky to be able to see them often. These photos were taken at the VAC. I’ve taken other pictures at the VAC and am finding it to be a challenge. The lighting seems to be dimmer than at other places. I am glad that these are just for my own use. As a customer, the VAC is an awesome venue to see a concert. Lots of room, you can get close to the stage, and you “can” take pictures. Next time, I’ll see if they can turn the lights up just a smidge or I might have to go back to my annoying flash.
In conclusion, Built to Spill= Great!

Pictures= Not so Great!

Viva Voce Returns to Boise
Last week one of my favorite bands came through town. Viva Voce, a husband and wife duo from Portland, Oregon. Only this time the duo turned into a foursome. As always, they put on a fabulous show! Travis and I agree that it’s not quite the same with the other two on stage. I am secretly hoping that this is just a trial thing and that they will return to the magic of just being an awesome husband and wife band! However, much fun was had and I look forward to their return.
